If you host multiple sites in the exact same account and one of them gets hacked, it is more than likely that all of them will be hacked afterwards. There are different reasons why this may happen, the two most popular are: using very weak passwords or using out-of-date scripts with known vulnerabilities. That way, just a single compromised website can do lots of damage to all your sites, since getting access to one script usually allows hackers to access the whole hosting account. This is the reason why we've developed an innovative security option known as JailHost. Once activated, this feature will literally lock a website within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the remaining sites in the account will be hidden. Thus they'll be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your sites updated, but it will significantly limit the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

If you host your Internet sites in a shared hosting account from our company, you will be able to protect them by using the JailHost option with just a couple of mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is provided with all packages and can be activated for any folder because the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so that files for many different sites do not get mixed up as it usually happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts that require access to folders outside the main website folder and this option may interfere with their correct operation, but securing all other folders is very easy. In case a protected Internet site gets hacked for some reason, we will be able to restore it promptly because we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups through Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost is provided with all of our semi-dedicated server solutions, so in case you host a couple of sites, you will be able to isolate them from each other to keep them safe. This option must be activated for each and every Internet site and is not turned on by default, in order to avoid interference with scripts which need access to multiple folders inside the account. Activating it for all other domains will take no more than a few clicks in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Unlike other Control Panels, Hepsia does not place multiple websites under the main domain folder. Instead, each and every domain or subdomain has its very own folder, which makes it much simpler to control and shield all of your sites. In case that a site inside your account gets hacked, not only will your other Internet sites remain untouched, but we will also be able to restore the damaged Internet site before you know it since we will have multiple backup copies of your whole content.
